I was practically born into cosmetics. Starting in 1988 with Estée Lauder companies, I first saw retail cosmetics as a way to put myself through college. However, I soon found myself on a fast track of promotions with skincare and prestige fragrance companies at Nordstrom. This proved valuable to my “beauty education” as it served as the foundation for training, team building, presentations, negotiations, and relationship management skills.

I progressed on to the vendor side of the beauty industry which gave me invaluable opportunities to gain and expand my skillset including national customer management, budgeting, forecasting, co-op and inventory management. I was able to build and manage field teams from the ground up as well as present products to merchants and DMM’s reaching across all channels. This ultimately resulted in YOY volume brand growth. Much like Cinderella, the glass slipper fits!

At the fledgling age of fourteen, I started a part-time job answering phones at a local hair salon in Atlanta, GA. This continued throughout high school and college, but I still had no idea the beauty industry would prove to be my long-term career path. By my mid 20’s I found myself in New York City managing the top salon & spa in the world, Frederic Fekkai, where I had the amazing opportunity of being on the development team of Frederic’s first 10 haircare products. Through this experience I fell in love with the product side of the beauty business.

After entering the product side of the beauty world, I’ve gained experience in many different areas including coaching/mentoring teams, product development, training, education, sales and operations. Recently, with 20 years of successful beauty brand work under my belt, I decided it was time to wear an entrepreneurial hat and make the leap of business owner faith!
